For pregnant women who are victimized by trafficking, abused, or homeless due to their pregnancy, the Pregnancy Resource Centre of Jamaica offers a residential care program called Hebron House. Women are given love and support to overcome their setbacks. Here, women receive education and therapeutic care during their residency.
Hebron House is a private and safe mother-and-child home that has offered women restorative care since 2005.
Hebron House Is a Home
Everyone needs a place to belong, feel safe, and be loved. For women displaced from their homes by their circumstances, the safety and security offered by a home are not always within their reach. Hebron House gives young women in crisis a place to call home when they have left, been turned out, or been removed from their homes for their safety. Here these women from difficult circumstances can find compassionate residential care in a safe and non-judgmental space. Young women will find restoration and strength through basic and therapeutic, holistic care offered at Hebron House.
Hebron House Provides Education
Many young women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy will lose the opportunity to finish their education. The deprivation of education and skills only serves to further limit their future opportunities. While in the care of Hebron House, young mothers will receive education and training that will provide them with the tools to thrive in their individual lives. Women can leave Hebron House with the confidence that they have what it takes to succeed.
Our Goal
Hebron House is a temporary, transitional residence focused on empowerment. Our goal is to give women the support they need to overcome their circumstances while receiving the education and skills they need to prepare them for life on their own. Young women at Hebron House are empowered and prepared for their own independent lives.
